Hello! My name is Daniel Martinez. I attend COCC and I am currently seeking a degree in
Computer Information Systems. When I get out of school, I plan to work for the state and stay in my
hometown of Madras, Oregon. As of now, my goals for this class are to learn how to code a very basic
website and get to know more coding languages becauase I find them interesting. By the end, I hope to
have a personal website that I am proud of.
When I say Madras is my hometown, I don't mean that lightly. I have never lived another
city or town besides Madras. I don't even like leaving town often. I really enjoy the nothingness that
tends to happen over here. Sure it's uneventful, but at the same time, it's uneventful if you know
what I mean...
I found a love for coding about 5 years back when I took a multi-media class and learned how to code a
super archaic HTML website for a 9th grade project. I did really well on it and wish I could have taken
more of those classes but unfortunately, the teacher retired the follwing year. It wasn't until last
year when I got back to learning more code in a couple of classes I took. I learned how to use basic
python and how to use functions in Excel and in Access. My goal for this class is that I want to
become good enough with CIS 195 that it would "wow" my younger self if it saw what I'm
capable of building. I also want to show my website off to my friends.
